This summer
discovery is a Mulberry Tree in the very back of our backyard. There are also
several on our street and as it turned out only squirrels and raccoons know about mulberries. Mulberries (Maulbeere in German and Tutovnik or Tjutina in Russian)
contains a lot of nutrients including iron, calcium, vitamin C, protein and
fiber. They also contain resveratrol which is good for heart health. There are black,
red, and white mulberries – we have black mulberries.
Mulberries are very delicious. They don’t last long that’s why it is hard to find them in the fruit/vegetables stores. If you have a lot of them – jam or compot is the most delicious solution! Just don't forget to remove the little green stems.
Don't miss a mulberry tree in your backyard or on your street! Enjoy summer!
